The Zoo- Party One

We took the kiddos to the zoo again this year! We did change the date from our traditional October visit and it was considerably warmer, but we all enjoyed it very much!

First stop… Africa

Before we were sweaty

Cutie exhibit 

This is only party one

Yes- another garden post!

Our first tomato!

Growing and Growing

First Cucumber!

First Green Pepper!

We love our garden. I think I’ll be a farmer when I grow up 

Dancin' in the street

Jim Quick and the Coastline band played at the Fuquay Varina celebrate festival this year! One little one who has a dancing bone had a great time! We all enjoyed this evening. We went out to get pizza and listened to the band while we ate.

She didn’t want to leave she was having such a good time!

squash, beds, projects oh my!

This is a bit of a jumble, because not everything in this post deserves its own post. So here goes…

This is the prototype of the project Will and I are working on! I saw this in Southern Living and just thought it was so cute! Alvin, Will’s friend at work, is gathering Ball jars and has already gathered old ball jar tops that are going to be so cute! I plan to add tweed around the base of the pump to complete it. Stay tuned for the finished project. And yes- we do use “congratulations Britany and Josh” as our current soap dispenser. Ha it’s a good conversation starter 

These were the first squash from our garden and they were delicious!

Layla made this mask at the zoo and it got her very excited for our zoo trip!

Her bed is coming along. It is so hard to find time to work on such a big project, but we are making good progress and she is happy where she is right now, so we are not terribly rushed.

Burnin’ the midnight oil working on the bed 

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we got together with our friends! It was a fantastic day!

All the girlys playing in the pool, don’t worry they all have matching swimsuits now 

Snack time!

They had so much fun squirting each other!

And blowing bubbles! It was a great day and Layla was worn out when she got home 

A trip to Grandmas and Grandaddys

On Memorial day weekend Will and I had a wedding to attend, so Layla got to go play and grandma and grandaddys house!

She enjoyed it a lot and was not ready to leave with us!

That is a yummy summer treat right there!

However you have to eat it to get to the good stuff 

Growing and Growing!

Our green peppers are growing by the day!

This cabbage sure is going to be good when they are stuffed with meat!

Getting bigger and bigger and yummier and yummier!

The Renovation of Layla's Big Girl Bed

This is the headboard to Layla’s big girl bed! Currently we are stripping the layers of paint off. Once we have it stripped we are planning to paint it. I am strongly leaning toward a very very light shabby pink.

Under that paint there is beautiful wood!

What would we do without help!

Shoo between all that gardening and sanding, a girl can get dirty!

An Ode' To Summer

I love Summer Time! I love that the daylight lasts longer, I love outside and I love that Layla can run in the sprinkler until bedtime 

Our garden is coming along nicely!

Every afternoon after work, we head outside and get to work!

I don’t even stop to change! I have no IDEA how I did not get that outfit just filthy!

We have a great little helper too!
