Fun with Cousins!

This weekend our family came to visit! We really love to visit as often as we can. Layla and Bella had SO much fun! They shut laughed and squealed and then laughed some more! It was Too cute!!!

Halloween Carnival

Tonight was the Halloween Carnival put on by Layla's pre-school!She got a pumpkin painted on her cheek by her teacher, Ms. Margot!

She played Ghost bowling and did really good throwing the ball!

She enjoyed the sucker she won for playing ghost ball :)

We participated in the cake walk, and we were Victorious!! I had donated a pumpkin pie, secretly hoping this would happen! Guess what I chose as our prize! ;)

These are Layla's BFF's! The first picture is Allison, who is a cow :) and the second is Emily who also dressed up as an elephant! They are the cutest animals! *We kind of think they were trying to figure out why everyone looked like animals, haha

We all had a great time at the carnival! Our little elephant had a fun night and is looking forward to Halloween to show off her costume some more!

When the Moon Hits your Eye like a Big Pizza Pie that's Amore!

For dinner one night this week we had pizza and spaghetti. It was so yummy and Layla really loved it. I had to post this picture, because it's so darn cute to me!

Look the concentration on that face! She is determined to slurp that noodle! :)

Pumpkin Picking!

This year I have looked so forward to picking pumpkins with Layla. We started the day off by going to Red Robin for lunch. This is really the most kid friendly restaurant I have ever been to. Layla really enjoyed looking at all of the decorations and liked the pizza and apples for lunch. We decided to visit Hill Ridge Farms, and it was lived up to the hype! There are so many different things to do there and such a great place to take kids! We saw lots of goats, ducks, chickens and sheep!The goats had a house!

She really enjoyed riding the ponies! She Loved the hay ride! This actually may have been her favorite part! She loved it so much that she clapped almost the whole time :)

And last but not least... the most important part of the day... PUMPKINS!First she surveyed...

She Found It!

And she got it! It looks great on the front porch, and on Halloween we are going to give it our best shot and carve it :)

She had such a big and fun day this is what happened on the car ride home! :) I would say pumpkin picking was a success!

The Wonderful Mountains

Last weekend Will and I took a trip to Asheville. This is probably my favorite place and one day I would really like to either live there or have a get away house. It's just such a nice place!

The first night we stayed at the Beaufort House in downtown. It was so lovely!

Breakfast was delicious! Yogurt with lots of fruit and blueberry waffles! It filled us up until dinner. I like staying at bed and breakfast's because you are able to meet new people. This particular time we drove 243 miles only to meet a couple from right here in Fuquay. We all thought that was pretty funny. We had made plans to go to Biltmore, but it was pretty rainy so we decided to take a trip up the blue ridge parkway.
Finally we ran out of gas and had to find a gas station which took us off of the parkway so we headed back into Asheville to walk around. We went to an Oktoberfest, which was fun to watch some guys in leiderhosen * don't know how to spell that, but you get the picture* play and dance. We shopped a little and then headed to our second bed and breakfast.

And we had built up our appetite, so we had THE BEST food ever at the Lobster Trap for dinner. I don't have a picture, but if you are ever in Asheville and you think Lobster macaroni and cheese is just sent to us from God because he wants us to be happy, you just must go.

Sunday we drove around a bit and came right back home to see the little one! She's our favorite. One day I can't wait to take her to the mountains! I know she will love them!

Layla's New Set of Wheels

Grandma spent the weekend with Layla so that we could enjoy a weekend away in the mountains. Well when grandma showed up with her surprise Layla was So excited! See below...

Yes that's right... Layla's got a COZY COUP! Pretty nice little car, Will's been talking about adding some exhaust pipe and a hemi, but I think she might have my genes and go to fast, so we better hold out. Fuquay's finest is on the look out for this little hot rod!

This is her 3rd mode of transportation, as you can see by looking in the background at her garage ;). Turbo Turtle and the princess mobile have taken a backseat though to this new ride. She has cup holders and has only ran over Georgie a few times. He has learned to run though when he sees it coming. This probably has to do most with the fact she really can't go forward yet, and this car doesn't come with a rear view mirror ;) We might have to add one!

Watch out on the roads, if you see her coming you might should pull over, she's fast!

The Zoo!

We had a great trip to the zoo 2 weekends ago. Layla really enjoyed seeing the animals. We kept hearing wow... wow!I must say that I have to recommend bringing your own lunch. We had ham sandwiches and, from what I remember from last year, it saved us about $30! In my opinion it was a delicious lunch. We just tailgated and took in our own water bottles. I didn't think this was aloud but I never saw a sign that said otherwise.

We saw all sorts of animals, Layla's favorites were the Zebras and The Lions! She kept roaring at the lions, we thought for a minute those lions might get scared, she sounded just like them ;)
She walked almost the whole time! That is a lot of walking, she slept really well that night!

This year daddy got to ride the carosel. Layla had so much fun!

It was a great trip to the zoo! Can't wait until next year :)

Play Date Friday!

Friday night my friend Amanda came over and Layla had a play date with baby James!

James and Layla have very similar personalities so it is fun to watch them play together. Layla would run and James would crawl as fast as he could after her!

Amanda's daughter Camryn is so good with kids. She will be a great babysitter!

Layla and James really enjoyed their play date and I really enjoyed getting to visit with Amanda. Hopefully we can do it again very soon!

Julia's having a baby!

Last weekend I helped host a baby shower for our friend Julia who is due with a baby girl in November. We all had a great time and Julia took a truck load of gifts home!

The cake turned out beautiful and very tasty! The filling was juicy strawberry! yummy!!

Melissa, Cherri and Kelly had the idea to make this cute clothes line! So sweet

Kelly and Cherri with all of their craftiness made these cute little booties filled with skittles for take home treats for the guests!

My Very First Blog

As many of you know I have become somewhat of an addict recently to reading others blogs. I just think it is so neat to read what others are doing and get ideas on fun things I can do. The first blog I came across was Kelly's Korner. I may never have 8 million readers, but I figure the 5 or 6 people that will read my blog will be entertained :).

So I suppose I will introduce you to my inspiration...

That is our daughter! Layla Grace :) She is as sweet as they come. I am only a little biased...

Also there is this little fellow...

His name is Georgie and he is our Westie!

And so I thought I would chronicle our lives so I can look back and remember how much fun it is with a house full :)

I do owe this first post to my very good friend Melissa, who was very sweet to set up my background. I could not figure out the html to save my life! I am still having a bit of trouble arranging pictures on the blog post. I will probably call Melissa about that one tomorrow too!

This weekend we are going to the zoo! I am looking forward to it. Infact we went to the zoo this exact weekend last year. Layla is getting excited. We have been reviewing our animal sounds. My personal favorite is the donkey*which won't be at the zoo, but there is a small donkey around our house everyday!
